So I’m running behind on my blog as wedding season hits full swing but this wedding I just had to get out and share, the wedding photography of Billy & Melissa. I was excited about this one from the offset and when we finally met for a pre wedding get together in Birmingham my excitement was confirmed, this was going to be one hell of a wedding. Melissa who now lives with Billy down in London had previously lived in the West Midlands so had chosen Solihull’s amazing St Alphege church for their wedding ceremony.
My day started just over the road at the Ramada Hotel, Solihull where I met up with Melissa and her family. What was noticeable instantly was how close this family were with all members rallying round each to help with the preparations, a real team effort with even Melissa getting in on the action! From there I shot over the road to catch up with Billy and the guys to try to help settle a few last minute nerves with some light hearted photography. Followed was a truly lovely ceremony packed full of joy and happiness, witnessed by the couples large entourage of family and friends.
From there we all headed over to The Silhillians where Melissa and Billy had laid on an outdoor BBQ which went down a storm with the guests and one very happy photographer. They had injected lots of Chinese tradition into this part of the day, with fortune cookies, sweets and a change of outfit into a stunning traditional chinese red wedding dress. We were also treated to the quintessential Chinese wedding tradition, the tea ceremony, a first for me and it was truly beautiful.
What a day, follows are some of my favourite moments….
